The power of thank you notes

If there's one thing the corporate reps look for, blunders make you appear bad, really bad. It is, in fact, a deal-breaker for a few. According to Forbes, 63 percent of hiring managers say they would not hire someone who made a grammatical blunder during the interview process.

You may never know whether thank-you letters are a dealmaker or a dealbreaker at the company you're targeting. Opt for an alert. It demonstrates you're investing time and effort into the position. It highlights your excellent habits.

Reputable companies recognize getting to know their customers and demonstrating gratitude for their business. Putting out the effort to express gratitude by sending thank-you notes is an excellent way to help build and maintain client relationships.

Here are some good reasons to write thank-you notes:

  • It's always the correct thing to do.

  • It may impact obtaining grants or scholarships, a job, or a customer.

  • It separates you from others.

  • Appreciation is beneficial to one's mental health. According to certain studies, it also reduces throbbing pain and has other medical benefits.

  • It'll bring delight to someone's heart! Having a handwritten letter among a stack of bills and junk mail.

  • It's an opportunity to thank someone for taking the time and trouble to do something nice for us.

  • It serves as a souvenir - no one saves an email or a book, but everyone keeps a letter!

  • It contributes to an under-appreciated talent while propagating a vital part of our culture.

  • It implies that you are a wise and thankful person.

  • It informs the supplier that you received their approval.

What should be included

The primary portion to say thanks, whether it's a personal note, an email, or an actual card, is the true substance. One should be direct and personalize the message to the recipient, for example, by mentioning specific guidance or particularly important conversation points. "Be sincere, and don't let yourself be helpless and kind for a second."

What not to include

While these notes can benefit the sender by strengthening personal or professional connections, the actual purpose of the message should be to express gratitude without making any assumptions. You don't send a thank-you note and then request something different in the note simultaneously.

The world becomes frantic and fast-paced, and we don't devote nearly enough time reflecting on something significant that has occurred or something that someone has done for us. Sending a thank-you message reassures us that we are valuable for other reasons, and it provides satisfaction.
